April 1 is the last day of public holidays in Hong Kong and Macao, and the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has experienced peak outbound traffic. According to statistics from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Customs, as of April 1 (as of 0:00 on the 2nd), the customs monitored more than 19,500 inbound and outbound vehicles, a record high since the port opened. Among them, 13,600 single-plate vehicles entered and exited Hong Kong and Macao, setting a new record for Hong Kong and Macao single-plate vehicles at the port since the implementation of the "Macau Cars Going North" and "Hong Kong Cars Going North" policies.

From 14:30 to 20:00 that day, the traffic flow of outbound passenger buses at the port continued to run at a high level. During peak hours, the peak number of outbound passenger buses at the port was 1,000 vehicles per hour. The single-plate vehicles from Hong Kong and Macao that entered the country from March 29 to March 31 concentrated on their return trip on April 1, which was the main factor that pushed up the peak value of outbound passenger vehicle traffic at the port. In the first quarter of this year, the customs clearance volume of single-plate vehicles in Hong Kong exceeded 314,000, and the customs clearance volume of single-plate vehicles in Macau exceeded 360,000, an increase of 4.6 times and 2.9 times respectively compared with the first three months after the implementation of the policy.

In order to continuously improve port inspection and release efficiency and passenger customs clearance experience, the customs continues to improve supervision and optimize services. According to reports from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Customs, the Customs has made full use of technological information technology to provide early warning for peak passenger vehicle traffic, dynamically adjust the deployment of supervisory manpower, and make every effort to ensure accelerated inspection and release during peak periods. In addition, the customs has further strengthened its linkage with various port departments and relevant parties in Hong Kong and Macao to continue to promote in-depth integration and convenient exchanges between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Customs reminds that during the Qingming Festival holiday, the traffic flow of inbound and outbound passenger vehicles through the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is expected to remain high. It is recommended that inbound and outbound passengers and drivers pay attention to traveling during off-peak hours. Vehicles must abide by relevant customs supervision regulations when entering and exiting the country, and cooperate when customs needs to inspect luggage and items.
