While the Israeli military remains committed to carrying out ground operations in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, where nearly 1.5 million people are sheltering, the US is expected to hold online discussions with Israel on the 1st regarding its alternative plan. Some American media reported this.

The Israeli military announced on the 1st that it had ended its ongoing military operation near Shifa Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip and withdrew.

The area around Shifa Hospital has been under heavy attack by Israeli forces since mid-March, with local authorities saying more than 400 people have been killed.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on social media that 21 patients have died since Israeli forces surrounded the hospital on March 18th.

He also reiterated his strong call for a ceasefire, stating that 107 people are unable to receive necessary medical care.

Meanwhile, while the Israeli military remains committed to carrying out ground operations in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, where nearly 1.5 million people are sheltering, the American news site Axios reports that the United States is in conflict with Israel over its own alternative plan. It was reported that the talks are expected to be held online on the 1st.

Talks between the two sides began in March, when Israel refused to send a planned delegation to the United Nations Security Council after it objected to the United States' failure to veto a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire during Ramadan. Since they had announced that they would cancel the deal, the focus is on whether these talks will lead to a solution to the situation.
