His orchid business is getting bigger and bigger, and the planting area has expanded from the initial 1.3 acres to more than 20 acres. The orchid garden has built facilities such as simple pavilions, rockeries and running water, and the environment is beautiful. “I’m lucky to have caught the express train of rural revitalization and realize my dream of growing orchids.”

Under the leadership of Ye Guobin, almost every household in Lidongtun grows orchids and everyone understands orchids. All year round, Lidongtun is filled with the fragrance of orchids, attracting tourists from all over the world to explore and find the fragrance. Ye Guobin said that in traditional Chinese culture, orchids symbolize elegance, nobility and noble personality and are known as the "gentleman's flower". In recent years, the consumption and aesthetic standards of mainland residents have gradually improved, and the orchid market has become increasingly prosperous. In addition, the rapid development of rural tourism has brought huge development space to the orchid industry.

"The mainland's economy is developing rapidly, and people have the ability to pursue more spiritual lives. A pot of orchids ranges from tens to hundreds of yuan (RMB, the same below), and the price is becoming increasingly affordable, and more and more people are willing to pay for orchids."

According to third-party platform review data, since March, searches for "flower viewing" and "outing" across China have increased by more than 460% month-on-month.

"When people appreciate orchids, they like to appreciate its charm and elegance. They pay attention to the rhyme and posture of the leaves, the shape, color and fragrance of the flowers, and the combination of flowers and leaves. Only by continuously improving the quality of orchids can we attract more customers." Ye Guobin told reporters that he often visits Guangdong is learning orchid management techniques, looking for new varieties and expanding sales channels.

Growing orchids is a technical job. When Ye Guobin sells orchids, he gives tips on orchid planting techniques and leaves his phone number and WeChat ID. Customers can consult at any time if they have problems raising orchids. If the orchid is injured, it can be sent back to the orchid garden for treatment.

Over time, Ye Guobin made many friends. “These orchid friends have learned the management techniques of orchids, and then promoted orchids to people around them, so that more people can understand and fall in love with orchids.”

As a beneficiary of rural revitalization, Ye Guobin used the orchid base to hold orchid cultivation classes, exchange experiences with local farmers on growing and selling orchids, and explain how to appreciate orchids for free to students and tourists, spreading orchid culture and promoting rural tourism.

Ye Guobin said that orchid farmers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have different planting techniques. He hopes to invite experts from Taiwan to Guangxi to exchange experiences and bring in advanced technologies and good varieties. "I hope to use orchid culture to bring the spiritual distance between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait closer. Both sides of the Taiwan Strait will work together to promote orchid culture and let Chinese orchids spread to the world." (End)
