Norwegian doctor Mads Gilbert denounced the Israeli occupation army's transformation of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex west of Gaza City into rubble, and said that Israel and the United States had turned Al-Shifa Medical Complex into a house of death.
Gilbert, who worked at Al-Shifa Hospital for 16 years, explained in a post on the X platform today, Monday, that Israel destroyed Al-Shifa Hospital, which has 700 beds and is considered the most important medical complex in the Gaza Strip.
He continued that Israel and the United States turned Al-Shifa Hospital into a house of death, as it was burned and became rubble and a grave for patients, medical staff, their relatives and refugees, adding that this is a clear indication of the cruel and evil Israeli colonial occupation policies, which aim to destroy the Palestinian people and their social institutions.
He said that the governments of the United States, the European Union and Britain should be ashamed of their support for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel.
On Monday morning, the Israeli army announced its withdrawal from Al-Shifa Hospital, which is the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip, two weeks after storming and destroying the hospital and its surrounding area.
During those attacks, the Israeli army killed more than 200 Palestinians in and around Al-Shifa Hospital, and arrested more than 900 others.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which has left tens of thousands of civilian casualties, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children, according to Palestinian and UN data.
Israel continues the war despite the issuance of a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan, and despite its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing genocide.
