It is not yet clear how long it will take for Netanyahu to recover from the (French) surgery.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent "successful" surgery to treat a hernia, his office said Monday.

A statement issued by the office after the operation, which was conducted on Sunday evening and was closely followed as the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip approached its sixth month, added that Netanyahu “is in good condition and has begun to recover.”

He pointed out that doctors discovered the hernia on Saturday during a routine examination, and after consultation, a decision was made to perform surgery on the Prime Minister after he finished his daily work schedule.

Hadassah Medical Hospital in Jerusalem, the center where the Prime Minister is being treated, said today that he is conscious and speaking with his family after the successful hernia operation.

He added that Netanyahu is recovering after the surgery, but did not immediately specify how long that would take.

It is noteworthy that thousands of Israelis have repeatedly demonstrated in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem since the start of the war on Gaza to demand Netanyahu’s resignation and the release of Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza, and the last of these demonstrations was in Jerusalem yesterday evening, Sunday.

The residents of the Gaza Strip have been facing a devastating Israeli war since October 7, which has left tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them women and children, and an unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis, according to UN and international data.
