Israeli demonstrators set up more than a hundred tents in front of the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) building in occupied Jerusalem, as part of the protests demanding the departure of the Israeli government and the conclusion of a deal leading to the release of Israeli detainees held by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli media reported on Monday that the tents are part of protests that will continue for 4 days in the city.

Yesterday, Sunday, thousands of Israelis demonstrated in front of the Knesset to demand the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the holding of early elections, as they accuse him of failing to deal with the attack of last October 7 and managing the war on Gaza.

The demonstrators demanded the necessity of concluding an exchange deal, returning the Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza, and expanding the powers of the negotiating delegation in Cairo.

Israeli Channel 12 said - yesterday, Sunday - that the police had raised the state of alert in preparation for demonstrations by families of prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, after the families of the prisoners threatened to burn Israel if the government did not respond to their demands.

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated last night in Tel Aviv and other cities to demand new elections and a prisoner exchange deal. Confrontations took place in Tel Aviv between demonstrators and the police, who arrested a number of them.

Yesterday, Sunday, Israeli media reported on the families of the prisoners threatening to escalate until the overthrow of Netanyahu’s government, whom they accused of delaying the return of their children from Gaza.

The families of the prisoners issued a statement in which they said, “Netanyahu is the main obstacle to seeing our children.”

The families said that "Netanyahu's behavior is a crime" and pledged to do everything in their power to remove him from power. They also vowed to continue protests until this is achieved.
