This is stated in a statement by the Public Relations Department of the IRGC, the text of which is quoted by the IRNA agency.
“A few hours ago, the aircraft of the deceitful Zionist regime committed a new crime and launched a missile attack... As a result of this crime, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, Iran's senior military advisers in Syria... as well as five accompanying them officers suffered martyrdom,” the statement said.
Earlier it became known that the Israeli Air Force attacked the territory of the embassy and the residence of the Iranian ambassador in the Syrian capital. The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced its readiness to respond to Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate.
