This statement was made in an interview with RIA Novosti by the head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Vienna on military security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov.

According to him, in the strategic concept of the alliance, approved at the summit in Madrid in 2022, Russia is declared “the most significant and direct threat.”

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock argued that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to drag the North Atlantic Alliance into an armed conflict.

At the same time, the head of the NATO military committee, Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer, reported that there were no signs that Russia was planning an attack on any of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
