Eight other departments still on orange alert

Eight other departments are on orange vigilance. In Indre-et-Loire, the Vienne began to recede at Chinon at midday. Across the entire department, 562 people have been evacuated since midday on Saturday, including 370 in Chinon, the prefecture told AFP. According to the mayor of this town, around “around fifty households” did not want to leave their homes. In several streets, residents tried to barricade their homes with concrete blocks, tarpaulins or even stones.

In Côte-d'Or, 40 people were welcomed in a room in Semur-en-Auxois while 12 people were evacuated from the Venarey-les-Laumes campsite and "18 people occupying three gîtes in Buffon are in the process of being evacuation by helicopter (...) the force of the current making evacuation by boat dangerous.”
