Addressing the repercussions of the Israeli war dominated the wishes of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and their aspirations towards the new Palestinian government headed by Muhammad Mustafa, who is expected to be sworn in before President Mahmoud Abbas within a few hours.

Al Jazeera Net toured the streets of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, and monitored the opinions of people, both residents and displaced people, and the extent of their interest in forming the new government, which is the 19th government since the formation of the Palestinian Authority in 1994.

The effects of the war and its repercussions were reflected in people’s opinions and their desire for the authorities to have a role after the end of the war in terms of reconstruction, securing the basic necessities of life for them, and improving economic conditions.

The war did not negatively affect the awareness of some who called on this government to work to thwart plans to displace Gazans abroad, and to strengthen their steadfastness, by restoring hope in life to them by providing means of life in various fields, rebuilding homes and educational and health facilities, and ensuring the return of the displaced to their homes.

The formation of this government comes in light of a fierce Israeli war that is about to enter its seventh month, during which the occupying state committed horrific crimes from which people, trees and stones were not spared, and changed the features of the small coastal strip with massive destruction that affected all aspects of life.
