The Ukrainian Air Force announced - Sunday morning - that Russia launched 16 missiles and 11 drones at Ukraine in an air attack during the night.

In a statement on the Telegram application, the Ukrainian Air Force said that it succeeded in shooting down 9 drones and 9 missiles. But it did not specify the targets of those missiles and drones that it shot down, or those that did not.

For more than a week, Russia intensified its air campaign against Ukrainian energy facilities, which caused severe damage and raised Ukrainians’ fears of a return to the electricity outages that the country had witnessed in the first post-war winter.

Donbass, the largest private Ukrainian fuel and energy company, said yesterday that 5 of 6 affiliated power stations were damaged or demolished, resulting in the loss of 80% of their power generation capabilities, adding that repairs may take up to 18 months.

"The entire country suffered very serious damage. Now we are in a situation where about 80% of our production capacity is damaged or completely destroyed," said Executive Director Dmitry Sakharok.

It is noteworthy that the Russian Ministry of Defense announced - March 22 and 29 - attacks using high-precision weapons on energy and air defense facilities and the military industrial complex in Ukraine.

These strikes came as part of a response to the attacks by the Ukrainian marches on several Russian oil refineries, including factories in the regions of Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Ryazan, and the Krasnodar Territory.
