Due to the issue surrounding the faction's political funding party, the Liberal Democratic Party's executive committee is coordinating to punish approximately 40 related members, including four senior members of the Abe faction who discussed the handling of kickbacks, and on the 1st, Secretary Motegi The president has decided to request the Party Discipline Committee to conduct an investigation.

Regarding this issue, the Liberal Democratic Party's executive department has been dealing with four Abe faction executives who discussed the handling of kickbacks, as well as the Abe faction and the Nikai faction, which had missed more than 5 million yen in income and expenditure reports in the five years up to 2017. The Party Disciplinary Committee is making arrangements to punish a total of approximately 40 people, including members of the Diet.

Secretary-General Motegi said on March 31st, ``We would like to take action by the end of this week.It will not be uniform, and we will consider various factors, such as the position the person is in and the amount that was not included in the income and expenditure report.'' I would like to make a judgment based on this."

So far, the policy has been to make punishments for Abe faction leaders more severe, with the most severe punishment being the second of eight levels, ``recommendation to leave the party.'' We are currently considering possible punishments such as ``suspension of party membership,'' ``non-official recognition in elections,'' and ``reprimand.''

On the 1st, Mr. Motegi will request a review from the Party Disciplinary Committee, hoping to make a decision on the 4th of this week, and will proceed with final adjustments regarding the punishments for each member of the Diet.

On the other hand, the opposition party stated that it is unacceptable to try to end the situation by disciplinary action against the relevant members while there is no progress in clarifying the actual situation, and on the 1st they will pursue this at the House of Councilors Settlement Committee, which is attended by Prime Minister Kishida and all cabinet ministers. At the same time, we will continue to request that Abe faction leaders be subpoenaed as witnesses.
