Thousands of Jordanians demonstrated for the seventh day in the vicinity of the Israeli embassy in Amman (Al Jazeera)

Informed sources said that Jordanian security forces forcefully dispersed demonstrations and marches in the Rabieh suburb (a suburb of the Jordanian capital, Amman), where the Israeli embassy is located, and arrested hundreds of male and female activists.

The sources said that among those detained were the trade union activist, engineer Maysara Malas, and the researcher in Jerusalem affairs, Ziyad Ibhais, and the two activists, Ruwaida Abu Radi and Nour Abu Ghosh, were also arrested.

She indicated that some were arrested while participating in the demonstrations, and some were arrested from their homes.

This comes after the arrest of the head of the Supreme Commission for the Youth Sector of the Islamic Action Front Party, Moataz Al-Harout, and the secretary of the sector, Hamza Al-Shaghnoubi, in the Jordanian capital, Amman, earlier yesterday.

The sources stated that Al-Harout was arrested in a public place, while Al-Shaghnoubi was arrested from his workplace in the Nuzha area in Amman. They were taken to the Al-Rashid security center, without knowing the charge until now.

Yesterday, for the seventh day in a row, the Jordanian capital witnessed demonstrations in the vicinity of the Israeli embassy in Amman to protest the continued Israeli aggression against Gaza, and to demand that the Jordanian authorities expel the Israeli ambassador, close the occupation embassy, ​​and cancel the peace agreement with Israel.
