According to British experts, the Russian military is recruiting around 30,000 people per month for its war of aggression in Ukraine. This emerged from the daily intelligence report from the Ministry of Defense in London on Saturday. Moscow will be able to continue to compensate for the losses of its soldiers and continue its attacks in the war of attrition against Ukraine, according to the message distributed on the X platform. As a result, Russia continues to have a quantitative advantage over the Ukrainians in terms of ammunition and equipment.

A large mobilization of officially 300,000 men announced by Vladimir Putin in the fall of 2022 caused panic in Russia and drove hundreds of thousands of conscript men out of the country. Since then, the Kremlin has avoided an officially announced mobilization, but has nevertheless recruited large numbers of new fighters for its war of aggression against Ukraine. Ukrainian intelligence sources also speak of up to 30,000 new Russian recruits per month. Meanwhile, Kiev is increasingly struggling to fill the ranks of its soldiers. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky had just corrected the number of 500,000 new men to be mobilized originally stated by the Ukrainian military leadership downwards, although without specifying how far down.

British military intelligence has now reported that the Russian attackers are continuing to advance gradually west of the recently captured town of Avdiivka. At the end of March, the villages of Tonenke and Orlivka most likely also fell into Russian hands. Others are therefore contested. Despite numerous sustained attacks elsewhere on the front line, the British assess Russian progress in recent weeks as little.
