Rania Abu Anza hopes to accelerate the cessation of the Israeli aggression against Gaza (social networking sites)

Even though weeks have passed since the disaster, Rania Abu Anza's wound is still fresh and has not healed, as she is trying hard to overcome the tragedy of losing her twin children - whom she gave birth to after more than a decade of waiting - and her husband, in a raid in Deir Al-Balah in the Gaza Strip.

This citizen did not imagine that the devastating Israeli war on Gaza would write a painful end to a dream that had just begun, of giving birth to twin children after 11 years of marriage.

A decade during which Umm Wissam went through three rounds of insemination and embryo transplantation, to achieve her dream of becoming a mother. All of that went in vain when the Israeli army bombed and destroyed the family home in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

The twin children, Wissam and Naeem, were killed at the age of 5 months, and they were the youngest among 14 people from the same family - in addition to their father - in an Israeli air strike on Deir al-Balah, at the beginning of this March.

Loss of family

The bereaved mother (27 years old) says with emotion, “I was hoping that they would spend the holy month of Ramadan and Eid with me, like every mother who loves to have her children with her.” She added, while standing on the ruins of her destroyed house, “This is our home, and here we were sleeping during the bombing.”

As you look at the rubble, you are surprised that the Israeli occupation army bombed the house where safe civilians live without warning, as there is nothing that would require bombing the place.

The citizen misses her husband, her twin children, and beautiful memories, saying, “I never thought about losing my husband, my children, and my family. We were living beautiful days and more beautiful memories. The hardest thing was when I saw my two sons martyred. I started crying bitterly.”

She continued - while holding the clothes of her twin children - that she had long dreamed of becoming a mother and having children.

Umm Wissam used to visit her destroyed house to inspect it and extract some simple clothes and possessions to remember the beautiful moments with her small family. She says, "These things were brought by the husband, and we were not able to remove all the clothes from under the rubble."

She points to a picture of her twin children and continues the conversation, "This is my son Naeem, whose father named him that after his grandfather, and this is Susu, whose father named her Wissam after him, and these are their clothes. They bathed before they went to sleep and were martyred."

Mother's Day gift

The bereaved mother dreamed that her two children would grow up and that they would bring her and their grandmother gifts on Mother’s Day, like the rest of her children. She said, “I decorated our house and brought Ramadan lanterns. I brought my daughter an Eid dress, shoes, and a small hair tie even though she did not have long hair yet. My husband’s family was happy with the first dress I bought.” For my daughter Wissam.. This is the dress I dug out from under the rubble, but I couldn’t get the shoes out. My love, Soso, my life, and my heart.”

The bereaved mother hopes that the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip will end as soon as possible, so that the bloodshed, especially against children, will stop.
