After strong winds on Friday night caused damage to the electricity network, nearly 6,000 homes were without power this Saturday morning in Rhône-Alpes.

Nearly 6,000 homes were without electricity on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. in Rhône-Alpes, after strong winds overnight caused damage to the electricity network already affected on Friday, Enedis told AFP. These outbreaks are located "mainly in the departments of Isère, Savoie, Ain and Loire, following a new gale that occurred last night which caused further damage to the electricity network (falling trees, branches fallen on the power lines),” said the network manager.

Maneuvers in progress

Technicians from Enedis and partner companies carry out repairs in the field and “remote operations are also carried out on the medium voltage electricity network to resupply the greatest number of homes as quickly as possible”, Enedis further informs. “The situation remains evolving” and “a new gust of wind is expected in the afternoon,” adds the company. Friday evening, around 1,600 homes were deprived of electricity after the passage of depression Nelson in Rhône-Alpes.
