Six departments in west-central France, from Indre-et-Loire to Dordogne, were placed on orange alert on Saturday morning for the risk of flooding, Météo-France announced. “Soils that are already very wet”

According to Vigicrues, the rainy episodes of recent days occurring on "already very wet soils" are causing an increase in watercourses in New Aquitaine and the Grand Est, leading to overflows locally. In the rest of the country, 17 other departments have been placed on yellow flood alert and 42 on yellow alert for the risk of storms, mainly on the eastern coast, by Météo-France.
