Saturday continues to be under the influence of

Storm Nelson

, which does not leave the peninsular territory, and begins with a predominance of cloudy skies and widespread rain in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

The

rains

will be more frequent in the afternoon except in Andalusia, where it is expected to rain from the early hours.

According to the State Meteorological Agency (

Aemet

), these precipitations may be locally strong and accompanied by storms. It will also rain heavily in the west of Galicia and the central system.

There will also be

intervals of strong wind and very strong gusts

in the southern half of the peninsular Mediterranean coast and in the Canary Islands.

According to Aemet, the rains will be more dispersed in the eastern third, the Ebro valley and the Balearic Islands.

In the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals and the possibility of weak rainfall are expected, more likely on the mountainous islands, especially on La Palma.

The

Aemet

also warns that there could be fog banks in peninsular mountain areas and some haze in the extreme east and in the Balearic Islands.

The

snow level

will decrease and will be between 900 and 1,200 meters in the northwest quadrant; the 1,000-1,400 meters in the Pyrenees; between 1,400 and 1,600-1,700 meters in the southeast, and 1,200 and 1,600 meters in the rest.

Temperatures will tend to decrease in the eastern third of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and will remain with few changes in the rest, except for a moderate rise in maximum temperatures in the Basque Country and northern Castilla y León.

There will be weak frosts in the mountains of the northern and southeastern half, moderate in the Pyrenees.

In addition, southwesterly winds are expected in most of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals and very strong gusts in the southern half of the peninsular Mediterranean coast.

In the Canary Islands, the wind will blow from the west and moderate, although with some strong intervals.
