The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced - on Saturday - that 107 patients were besieged by the Israeli occupation forces in one of the buildings of the Shifa Medical Complex west of Gaza City, living in inhumane conditions, and confirmed that the occupation had prevented their evacuation.

The Ministry of Health added that there are 30 seats for patients, in addition to the presence of 60 medical staff. She added that the occupation prevented all attempts to evacuate these patients through international institutions.

The Ministry warned of the danger of losing patients' lives in light of the difficult health conditions they live in, and called on everyone to take urgent action to save their lives.

Last Thursday, the government media office in the Gaza Strip announced that the Israeli army had executed more than 200 Palestinians inside the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City, and arrested about a thousand others, since storming it 13 days ago, in an operation that is still ongoing.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that the Israeli occupation forces blew up and burned a large number of citizens' homes in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital.

A number of Palestinians who were able to flee from Al-Shifa Complex and its surroundings reported that large numbers of bodies of martyrs were lying on the ground, and that ambulance and civil defense crews were unable to reach the wounded inside some homes, while those trapped inside Al-Shifa Hospital were suffering from hunger and thirst due to the continued Israeli siege of the hospital. .

This is the second time that Israeli forces have stormed the hospital since the beginning of the war on Gaza. They stormed it on November 16, after besieging it for a week, and destroyed its courtyards, parts of its buildings, medical equipment, and the electricity generator.

Since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip that has left tens of thousands of civilians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, a humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction, which led to Tel Aviv being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide.
