The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, through its page on the X platform, called on those wishing to donate blood during the month of Ramadan to follow some instructions in order to preserve their health.

Dr. Hanan Al-Awadhi, Hematology Consultant and Medical Director of the Blood Transfusion Service Department, explained that it is possible to donate blood during the holy month of Ramadan, but only after following some tips so that the donor does not feel stressed and tired, which are:

  • Drink plenty of fluids after donating.

  • Eat foods rich in iron.

  • Avoid strenuous activities such as lifting weights until the next day of donation.

Blood is donated during breakfast hours, after which fluids such as water and juices are drunk and protected from dizziness or fatigue.
