Every morning, Jean Zeid delivers the best in terms of innovation. This Friday, he is interested in the company SI Énergie which offers an intelligent router to manage the electricity produced by photovoltaic panels.

This Friday morning, we are talking about a small revolution on the hot water tank side.

We're not going to lie to each other, on Europe 1, we didn't think that a revolution could happen on the hot water tank side, but the Périgourdins decided otherwise and that's good. André Borie and his daughter Carole, set up their company called SI Énergie between Sergeac and Sarlat. It was there, in Dordogne, that his father, an electrician and heating engineer, had the idea of revolutionizing the production of hot water and electricity.

What is their invention?

This requires a little explanation because it took Carole and André eight years to achieve this invention. And that's it, their technology is patented. This invention promises, nothing less, than to halve the energy bill of households and certain businesses thanks to hot water. Hot water production represents, according to Ademe (Ecological Transition Agency), 50% of the energy bill excluding heating. To reduce the bill, the SI Énergie system offers an intelligent router to manage the electricity produced by the photovoltaic panels.

Half the electricity bill is starting to get interesting.

Already, the saving is on the battery side. The Périgord system does not need it. These batteries have one quality: they store the electricity produced by the photovoltaic panels, but they are expensive, the ecological cost is far from negligible and their lifespan is limited. So here, no battery, but an intelligent device, downstream of the photovoltaic panels. In fact, it is an electronic card with on-board software which manages variations in electrical production depending on the sun and which will transform these sun rays into heat.

What you mean is that the hot water tank keeps the energy instead of the battery.

Exactly. The hot shower in the morning is free in terms of energy, and you didn't buy big batteries. At the price of electricity, here again, the saving is real, even if it is difficult to quantify, the marketing phase is beginning.

And when there is no sun?

This is precisely the obstacle that the IS Energy system addresses. And that's normally what the battery is for, to keep electricity when the sun is not out.

The system which bears the name Inducsun is very reactive and it will choose to heat the hot water tank of the house or building, even with short periods of sunshine. He prioritizes. And it is an autonomous system and not connected to the electricity grid. Here again, economy, in the face of electricity prices which continue to rise.
