The Polish prime minister spoke about this in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País.

“The saddest moments in my political career are the moments when I have to be tough with our Ukrainian friends,” he said.

Tusk stressed that as Prime Minister of Poland, he is obliged to protect the fundamental interests of his country.

Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, previously criticized Polish farmers for blocking the border with Ukraine, as this interferes with military transit.

It was also reported that protesting Polish farmers stopped even allowing buses with passengers to pass at one of the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
