Russian Ambassador in Vienna Dmitry Lyubinsky told Izvestia about this.

“Even at the time this unpleasant decision of the Austrian authorities was announced to us, I stated at a conversation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that this decision was not justified in any way, it was unacceptable, and retaliatory measures would inevitably follow,” he said.

Lyubinsky added that the Austrian partners will be informed about the retaliatory measures taken soon.

As the Austrian publication Die Presse reported on March 13, the Austrian Foreign Ministry announced to two diplomats of the Russian Embassy that they would be expelled from the country due to “inconsistency with their diplomatic status.”

Moscow said it would respond to this unfriendly step.
