This was reported by the regional department of the Russian FSB, RIA Novosti reports.

“The court sentenced the 34-year-old organizer of an extremist cell to six years in prison,” the department said.

The 27-year-old participant was also sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

It is noted that the activities of the international extremist religious organization were aimed at discriminating against Russian citizens on religious grounds and supporting terrorist structures.

Also, the court in Rostov-on-Don arrested members of the extremist cell.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Federal Security Service (FSB) to strictly suppress attempts to provoke unrest and ethnic conflicts in Russia.
