The National Police

has arrested 11 people

in different parts of Madrid for allegedly committing

robberies in homes

in the capital by the method of

slipping

and

bumping

. Among those arrested are two Serbian women, Georgians and three Spaniards. According to the Police, in the

Ciudad Lineal

district , two Serbian women were arrested when they were leaving a home after stealing numerous jewelry, while in the

Centro

and

Latina

districts , thanks to citizen collaboration, the agents arrested five men who were trying to enter in homes. In addition, early Wednesday morning four other people were caught marking doors and carrying tools intended for robbery in the

El Pilar neighborhood

.

Last week, agents surprised

two women leaving a

housing block in Ciudad Lineal. Among their belongings, numerous pieces of jewelry, cash, as well as a plastic sheet used to open doors by the

slip method

and socks that they used as gloves were found.

Later, they found the address where they had been robbed. After informing the owner, who was inside at the time of the assault, they handed her all the recovered effects. Finally they were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority as presumed responsible for a crime of

robbery with force in an inhabited house

, decreeing their immediate entry into prison.

Latina, Center and Fuencarral

Likewise, last Tuesday the arrest of three men was achieved in the Latina district and another two in the Center district thanks to citizen collaboration. In both cases, the neighbors alerted CIMACC-091 when they detected how they were trying to enter the homes by forcing the doors.

Immediately several

radio patrols

went to the scene, managing to thwart the robberies, also finding useful tools for opening doors.

Also early Wednesday morning in the Madrid district of Fuencarral, four men were surprised by the police carrying among their belongings tools used to mark doors such as bottles of glue and adhesive papers.

After carrying out searches of the homes, they found that in one of them there were several doors marked with

small threads of glue

, almost imperceptible, which are placed out of visual range - normally in the upper or lower corner - to detect the presence of the residents in the coming holidays.

To prevent theft, the Police recommend

checking that doors and windows are properly closed

, locking them and activating the alarm and other security measures, even for very brief absences, closing the portal door at each exit and not allow strangers access to the building.

It is also advisable

not to leave visible signs that the home is unoccupied

, such as lowering the blinds or disclosing information about the vacation on social networks before or during it.

If you

see strange people in the doorway or loitering on your street

, notify the police, as well as if you see the door of the home open or a broken window, instead of entering directly, and not touching anything inside. to avoid destroying evidence.

It is also recommended

to notify the agents if you hear strange noises

, observe activity where there should not be any, see unusual people or cars hanging around, and detect stained peepholes and objects fixed between the frame and the door or stuck in the lock.
