Deir ez-Zor -

Late last week, eastern Syria witnessed sporadic attacks by the Islamic State organization on concentrations of regime forces and positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. These attacks posed a new threat in terms of the recent intensification of military operations and targeting in the governorate.

ISIS attacks in areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces represent another threat and burden, amid the chaos witnessed in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor due to the assassination of tribal figures by unknown parties, in addition to almost daily clashes between the so-called tribal forces and the SDF in the region.

The organization's strategy is based on intensifying its attacks through cells made up of separate groups, each cell includes a specific number and monitors its goals without prior determination by the organization's leaders, in contrast to what it does in the Levantine desert, where it relies on the centralization of the decision by these leaders and the military forces directing them. The striker.

Military tactic

ISIS is still using the same military tactic in its sporadic attacks by targeting and evacuating the place very quickly, according to a statement by journalist Moaz Al Talab to Al Jazeera Net.

The organization launched several attacks in Gharanij, Al-Busayra, Al-Dahla and Al-Sur in the SDF-controlled areas east of Deir ez-Zor, through cells that carry out their attacks at night, matched by other attacks in the Al-Masrab desert and the city of Al-Mayadeen in the areas controlled by the regime forces, according to the same source.

ISIS announced - through its identifiers - that it had launched 9 separate attacks in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, targeting members of the regime forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The Syrian Democratic Forces said that a leader of its members was killed, in addition to two other members and a number of wounded among its members, in conjunction with those attacks.

The people in the Deir ez-Zor countryside are suffering from a bad security situation due to the spread of assassinations, bombings, ongoing clashes between tribal forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces, and arbitrary arrests by SDF, in addition to the night curfew and poor services that do not meet the needs of the people in those areas, according to the description of Hatem al-Muhammad, a resident of the Deir countryside. False.

Deteriorating security situation

Al-Muhammad added in his interview with Al Jazeera Net that residents face difficulties in going out at night, even in emergency situations, due to fears of being targeted and the deteriorating security situation.

Ali Al-Sheikh told Al Jazeera Net that the security situation will remain deteriorating as long as these attacks continue and negatively affect people searching for stability. He adds that the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing a security chaos, unlike the northern areas adjacent to Hasakah Governorate, and he attributes this to the weakness of the interventions of the Syrian Democratic Forces, including confronting tribal conflicts.

All of this - Jassim Al-Assi tells Al Jazeera Net - exacerbates the security and economic situation in the areas controlled by the SDF forces in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, in addition to poor services and widespread corruption among employees of the Autonomous Administration.

Al-Assi pointed out the ban on the use of motorcycles, which have become a popular means of transportation, and these conditions are offset by the rise in food supplies - including bread - due to the price hike by the Autonomous Administration.

Abdul Rahman told Al Jazeera Net that young people avoid passing by the Syrian Democratic Forces checkpoints, for fear of being caught and taken to compulsory conscription, which forces them to use distant or blocked roads, which may expose them to danger.

to celebrate

Since the Syrian Democratic Forces took control of the areas of eastern Syria, supported by the international coalition forces, this coalition has been sending convoys containing military and logistical equipment, the last of which arrived two days ago to the Al-Omar and Koniko oil fields in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The coalition is also working to provide helicopter support to the Syrian Democratic Forces in their raid operations this week.

Meanwhile, last Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces celebrated in Al-Omar field by holding events for what they called the anniversary of the expulsion of ISIS from the town of Al-Baghouz, in the presence of representatives of the coalition and a number of notables from the regions.
