Smoke rises after rockets were fired from southern Lebanon yesterday at Israeli sites (Reuters)

An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that dozens of rockets were fired from southern Lebanon towards Israeli sites and settlements in the Galilee Finger, after seven volunteers were killed in an Israeli raid on an ambulance center affiliated with the Islamic Emergency and Relief Authority in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah announced that it bombed the Kiryat Shmona settlement and the 769th Brigade Command in the Kiryat Shmona barracks with dozens of missiles, and said that this bombing “comes in response to the massacre committed by the Zionist enemy in the town of Habariya.”

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that explosions occurred in various areas of the Upper Galilee, after dozens of rockets were launched from southern Lebanon.

On the Israeli side, the Israeli Civil Defense announced that one person was injured and that a building was severely damaged after more than 30 rockets fell on Kiryat Shmona today.

For its part, Israeli Channel 12 announced that more than 30 missiles were fired from Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee, a number of which caused damage and some of which were intercepted.

This comes as the Israeli Home Front announced the sound of sirens in towns in northern Israel.

Al Jazeera's correspondent explained that sirens were sounding for the second time in Margaliot, Kiryat Shmona, Tel Hai and Kfar Giladi in the Upper Galilee.

7 killed in a raid on an ambulance center

On the other hand, the Civil Defense in southern Lebanon said that seven people were martyred in an Israeli raid that targeted the emergency center of the Lebanese Ambulance Association in the town of Hebbariyeh.

The Israeli Air Force targeted an ambulance center belonging to the Islamic Emergency and Relief Authority, which led to its complete destruction, according to a local official in the town, while paramedics were inside, and a number of nearby homes were damaged.

For its part, the Lebanese Ambulance Association mourned seven of its volunteers. She said in a statement that targeting her center constitutes a violation of humanitarian work.

The association called on the international community to oblige Israel to stop targeting ambulance crews that work in accordance with international law, according to its statement.

Local sources said that civil defense teams worked to remove the bodies and continued surveying and removing rubble from the site of the Israeli raid.

On the other hand, the occupation army announced the implementation of a raid that it said targeted a military building in Al-Habbariyeh, and claimed that it had “eliminated” what it described as terrorists from the Islamic Group.

Other raids

Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah announced the killing of 3 of its members in Israeli air strikes near two towns in northeastern Lebanon.

The Israeli army confirmed that it targeted an airstrip and buildings within a Lebanese Hezbollah military complex in the Zaboud area.

The occupation army said that it carried out raids on an airstrip and military installations of a Hezbollah air unit in the Tal Wardin area in the Lebanese interior. It also attacked the party’s weapons stores in Hanin and a military compound in Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.

He added that his fighters raided the Wadi Afra area in the Bekaa, eastern Lebanon, and Hezbollah military buildings in Aita al-Shaab and Kafr Kila, and an observation point in Maroun al-Ras, southern Lebanon.

The occupation indicated that its targeting of sites in the Zaboud area (190 kilometers from the border) came in response to the party’s firing of missiles at the air control unit in Meron.

On the other hand, Hezbollah announced carrying out 10 attacks on Israeli sites, and targeting the Yardun Barracks in the occupied Syrian Golan with more than 50 Katyusha rockets, in response to an Israeli raid in the Bekaa.
