The victory of Bassirou Diomaye Faye in the first round seems to be confirmed, although there are disparities. However, figures are still missing, as for the most important departments in terms of number of voters, such as in the region of Dakar, Thiès or Mbour.

Overall, it's a

tidal wave in favor of Bassirou Diomaye Faye

. But the results of the departmental vote census commissions, still being compiled at the national level, show disparities.

The new elected president largely won in the urban departments of the suburbs of Dakar, such as Pikine and Guédiawaye. The latter are important reservoirs of voters, particularly young people.

No surprises in the Ziguinchor region, in Casamance.

In this stronghold of Ousmane Sonko

, Bassirou Diomaye Faye pulverizes his competitors. And this in the three departments of Ziguinchor, Bignona and Oussouye.

To the north, it takes it to Saint-Louis.

On the other hand, the candidate from Macky Sall's camp Amadou Ba is in the lead in the departments of Matam and Podor, traditional strongholds of the ruling coalition.
