American demonstrators demand an end to the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza (French)

An analysis published by the American Gallup organization on Wednesday showed a decline in American support for the Israeli war in Gaza from 50% to 36% since last November, based on a poll conducted by the organization this March.

The poll conducted by the Foundation stated that 55% of Americans do not approve of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, while 36% of them support it.

The poll also showed American independents shifting from being divided in their views on the Israeli war in Gaza to opposing it.

As for Democrats, who were largely opposed to the Israeli war in Gaza in the poll conducted by the foundation in November, they are now more opposed, as 75% of them objected to the war, while only 18% supported it.

The percentage of Republicans who support the Israeli war in Gaza decreased to 64% from 71% last November.

Support Biden's policy

The results of the poll indicated that the percentage of Americans’ support for President Joe Biden’s handling of the situation in general in the Middle East amounted to 27%, which is the lowest percentage of support for his dealings with 5 other issues related to the economy, environment, energy policy, and foreign affairs more broadly.

The poll showed that only 21% of independents and 16% of Republicans approve of Biden's performance regarding the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

The analysis conducted by Gallup of the poll results stated that the general American approval rate for Biden’s performance of his presidential job is not lower than it was before the start of the war in Gaza.

40% of Americans expressed their approval of Biden’s performance of his job, compared to about 37% in the polls last October and November.

However, the analysis indicated that declining American support for the Israeli war on Gaza and Biden’s handling of it could harm the president by weakening turnout among potential Biden voters who care deeply about Gaza and feel dissatisfied with his handling of the war’s continuation.
