The head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that one of the victims of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall died in hospital.

“Unfortunately, one of the victims, who was previously in an extremely serious condition, died, the doctors did everything possible,” RIA Novosti quotes the minister as saying.

Taking into account previously published data from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the number of deaths as a result of the tragedy on March 22 increased to 140.

Reaction to tragedy

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that officials from Western countries changed their position on the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall for fear of being “left behind.”

As Zakharova said on Radio Sputnik, a “mutation has occurred” with Western countries under the influence of the reaction of the world majority to the terrorist attack in Russia. According to the diplomat, representatives of Western countries began to come to Russian embassies and leave entries in books of condolences.

“They understood everything. They realized that despite the fact that they declare themselves to be a dominant, a hegemon, a metropolis, the world has already stepped forward - and they will remain completely left behind if they do not change their attitude towards this monstrous tragedy,” said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

A day earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the leadership of Interpol unexpectedly announced its readiness to assist in the investigation of the terrorist attack.

The minister suggested that such a development of events would most likely be aimed at promoting the theory, convenient for the West, that the terrorist attack was prepared by the Islamic State group*, and Ukraine “had nothing to do with it.” “We can handle it ourselves,” Lavrov concluded.
