Ren Xinyu, an interpreter at the Memorial Hall of the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China, said that Yang Paoan was an overseas Chinese living in Japan and was exposed to Marxism and various Western social trends. After returning to China, he actively participated in the anti-imperialist and patriotic struggle in Guangzhou. He was the first person in South China to systematically introduce Marxism. On July 25, 1931, Yang Paoan was arrested and imprisoned by Kuomintang agents. While in prison, Yang Paoan wrote a suicide note to his relatives, telling them that he planned to use his life to interpret his faith, and urged his children to inherit his legacy.
