A Chinese government spokesperson welcomed former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou, who will visit China in April. Some Taiwanese media have reported that there will be a meeting between Mr. Ma and President Xi Jinping during his visit, and all eyes are on whether the meeting will actually take place.

Former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou is scheduled to visit China's Guangdong and Shaanxi provinces, as well as the capital Beijing, from April 1st to April 11th.

Some Taiwanese online media have reported that during Ma's visit, a meeting with President Xi Jinping is scheduled to take place in Beijing on April 8th.

In relation to this, Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, which is in charge of Taiwan policy in the Chinese government, stated at a press conference on the 27th that there was "no information to provide at this time," but added, "Mr. Ma's I would like to make appropriate arrangements for the visit and provide the necessary cooperation,'' he said, expressing his intention to welcome the visit.
