Zakharova - about the international reaction to the terrorist attack

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, emphasized during the briefing that only the Kiev regime did not condemn the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall amid the global reaction to the tragedy.

“Almost the whole world strongly condemned the terrorist attack. Then Westerners were drawn into the global chorus. Except for one country. Only one country on our planet went in the opposite direction. I’m not sure that we can talk about the country and the state. Still, let’s talk about the Kiev regime,” Zakharova said.

She added that soon after the events of March 22, Vladimir Zelensky “hastened to disown” the terrorist attack in Crocus and tried to shift the blame to Russia and the country’s authorities.

“He directly began to spread some accusatory speeches against Russia and its leadership in the context of the terrorist attack. This was done so clumsily that the idea of a Ukrainian trace literally began to strengthen in the mass world consciousness,” Zakharova said.

She also noted that in the first days after the terrorist attack, its events were linked to Ukraine by Kiev itself, as well as Washington and London. Zakharova recalled that the Ukrainian special services had previously repeatedly publicly admitted to preparing and committing high-profile terrorist attacks against Russia and its citizens.

The day before, the head of the FSB, Alexander Bortnikov, in a conversation with journalists, said that the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall was being prepared by radical Islamists with the support of the intelligence services of the West and Ukraine. He noted that the Kyiv special services “have a direct connection to this.”
