According to the Transport Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Northwestern Federal District, operatives were immediately called to the scene for inspection.

“No suspicious objects were found... A 48-year-old resident of the Kemerovo region was identified, who, out of hooligan motives, stated that his friend allegedly had dangerous objects in his hand luggage,” the statement says.

A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 2 of Art. 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Knowingly false report of an act of terrorism).

Earlier, in Sheremetyevo, a passenger on one of the flights said that there was a bomb in her backpack.

Later, a source in law enforcement agencies told RT that the phrase of a passenger on one of the flights to Sheremetyevo about a bomb turned out to be a joke.
