Occupied Jerusalem -

The Islamic Museum, in Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the occupied Holy City, contains many rare items and manuscripts, including a rare copy of the Kufic Qur’an, which antiquities expert Ismail Sharawneh says is “the oldest in the Islamic Museum and perhaps in the world.”

Sharawneh told Al Jazeera Net that Al-Hassan bin Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the one who wrote the copy with his own hand.

The antiquities expert narrates details about the writing, numbering, and punctuation of the copy, and the role of calculating sentences in that.
