will be the candidate of the Popular Party for the Catalan elections on May 12, as confirmed by sources from the
popular
leadership . In this way, an open secret is confirmed, after this late Monday Fernández emerged as the main contender to head the Catalan list.
"After having obtained the support of the main political assets of the party in that community, this proposal will be submitted to the consideration of an Autonomous Board of Directors, which will be held this Wednesday in Barcelona and which is expected to be attended by the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo", they announce from Genoa.
In addition, Dolors Montserrat, leader of the European delegation of the PP - and one of the names that was strongly sounded as a possible alternative to Fernández in the candidacy - will also be proposed as president of the party's campaign committee.
