Haniyeh (left) from Tehran: The United States of America is unable to impose its will on the international community (French)

Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, said that the adoption by the UN Security Council of a resolution demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip shows Israel's "unprecedented political isolation."

The head of Hamas’s political bureau said - after a meeting in Tehran between Haniyeh and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian - “Although this decision came late and perhaps there are some voids that need to be filled, the decision itself indicates that the Israeli occupation lives in political isolation.” Unprecedented".

Haniyeh stressed to reporters that this vote shows that “the United States of America is unable to impose its will on the international community.”

Haniyeh said that the occupation failed to achieve its political and military goals through its aggression against the Gaza Strip, and began to lose its political cover.

He added that we are going through a historical stage and a fateful turning point in the context of the historical conflict with the Zionist entity in the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood.

He said that the battle has entered its sixth month, at a time when the Palestinian people and the resistance are still steadfast in the face of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

A positive and insufficient step

Tehran considered the Security Council resolution “a positive but insufficient step,” calling for “effective action to implement the resolution and reach a complete and permanent cessation of the attacks of the Zionist entity aggressing against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.”

Earlier Tuesday, the official Iranian IRNA news agency said that Abdullahian and Haniyeh discussed during their meeting in Tehran the latest developments in the war on Gaza and the ongoing attacks by the Zionist entity on the people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Hamas said that its delegation in Tehran, headed by Haniyeh, is holding discussions with Iranian officials regarding developments in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

On Monday, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan, leading to a permanent and sustainable ceasefire, at a time when the United States abstained from voting.

Since last October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving 32,000 martyrs, most of them women and children, in addition to destroying infrastructure and service facilities, and displacing and starving the population.
