At least 6 people were killed and about 20 others, including civilians, were injured - today, Tuesday - in a series of raids launched by unidentified aircraft on several areas in Deir ez-Zor and its countryside in eastern Syria, one of which targeted a residential building.

The National Defense Forces in Deir ez-Zor said that the bombing was carried out by American aircraft, and affected many locations, including the city’s University Presidency Street, the Al-Tammu neighborhood in the city of Al-Mayadeen, the Al-Suwayya area in the city of Al-Bukamal, and the village of Al-Hagana.

For his part, an American military official, in an interview with Al Jazeera, denied that his country launched any strikes in Syria last night.

Local media reported that the raids - which are not known whether they were American or Israeli - targeted military and security headquarters and weapons depots belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the Lebanese Hezbollah, and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces.

The bombing, as confirmed by these sources, resulted in the killing of 5 members of the Revolutionary Guard, two others from other factions, and the wounding of the commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah in Albukamal.

It also indicated that the unknown raids came after an Iranian plane carrying members of the Revolutionary Guard and logistical equipment landed at Deir ez-Zor airport, and coincided with the preparations of the targeted forces to conduct military maneuvers in the Al-Bukamal desert near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

It is noteworthy that the targeting of armed factions in Deir ez-Zor and its countryside came after the American base in Kharab al-Jir in the Hasakah countryside was bombed - the day before yesterday - while Washington accuses forces affiliated with Tehran of carrying out this targeting.
