The Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip continued - today, Tuesday - the day after the UN Security Council issued a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire yesterday, Monday, after Israel’s ally, the United States, abstained from voting against the resolution, as it has done repeatedly since the outbreak of the war more than 5 months ago.

Al Jazeera's correspondent confirmed that the occupation army blew up more homes in the vicinity of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, which it has besieged for 9 days, amid violent clashes in the vicinity of the complex and the fall of dozens of martyrs and wounded.

The reporter added that the Israeli artillery shelling continued since the early hours of the morning on Beit Hanoun, east of Jabalia, and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

In the south of the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported artillery shelling and clashes in the Japanese Quarter and the Western Line in the city of Khan Yunis.

He also confirmed the death of 18 Palestinians, including women and children, after an occupation raid targeted a house housing displaced people north of the city of Rafah, in the far south of the Gaza Strip, while a number of people are still missing under the rubble.

For its part, the government media office in Gaza reported that last night, Israel launched dozens of air strikes in Gaza, Rafah, Deir al-Balah, Khan Yunis, al-Maghazi, and Beit Lahia, in parallel with intense artillery shelling targeting various areas in the Strip.

Martyrs at sea

Medical sources reported that 9 Palestinians drowned and 5 others went missing in the Gaza Sea while trying to obtain aid dropped from the air.

The British Ministry of Defense said that its Royal Air Force airdropped more than 10 tons of food supplies onto the Gaza Strip for the first time yesterday, Monday, after previously expressing its refusal to drop aid by air due to the damage it could cause to civilians, stressing the necessity of delivering aid. Aid by land.

The ministry added that the aid consists of water, rice, cooking oil, flour, canned food, and baby formula.

Evacuation of Al Amal Hospital

As the occupation's siege of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis continued, in the second operation launched by the Israeli army since late last January, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed the evacuation of 27 members of its staff and 6 patients from the hospital in prior coordination with the United Nations.

The Red Crescent indicated - via the X platform - that it had also evacuated the bodies of two martyrs who died inside the hospital as a result of the Israeli siege.

The Red Crescent stressed that the evacuation came after the occupation forces forced the hospital crews to evacuate it and close its entrances with dirt barriers.

Occupation injuries

Meanwhile, the occupation army announced that 31 soldiers were injured in the Gaza battles during the past 48 hours, without clarifying the nature of the battles that led to their injuries.

Thus, the number of Israeli army casualties rises to 3,130 officers and soldiers since the beginning of the war on the 7th of last October, 1,509 of whom were during the ground operation that began on the 27th of the same month.

The occupation army said that 288 soldiers are still receiving treatment after being injured in the Gaza battles, 25 of whom have serious injuries.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip resulted in the death of 32,333 Palestinians and the injury of 74,694 others, in addition to thousands of missing persons.

It is noteworthy that the resolution adopted by the Security Council with a majority of 14 votes in favor and one member abstaining from voting, the United States, calls for an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan, which began two weeks ago, provided that it leads to a permanent ceasefire. The resolution also calls for the immediate release. And unconditionally for all detainees.
