“There is some kind of intervention by Western forces, an attempt to destabilize the country. They're also trying to send a message to Russians: Look, this is what happens when you vote for a president we don't like. I think this is a great tragedy. And the fact that such a terrorist attack occurred is not a coincidence,” the interlocutor said.

British analyst Alexander Mercouris called the premature statements by the United States about the alleged responsibility of the Islamic State* for the terrorist attack in Russia very strange.

According to the expert, it looks as if the United States is trying to reject in advance the assumption of Kyiv’s involvement in the terrorist attack.

* “Islamic State” (IS, ISIS) is an organization recognized as terrorist by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation dated December 29, 2014.
