So far, 139 people have been confirmed dead in the terrorist attack that occurred at a concert hall on the outskirts of Russia's capital, Moscow, and four men believed to have carried it out have been charged with terrorism.

A man who was at the scene spoke to NHK about the horrific situation at the time.

A fire broke out at a concert hall in Krasnogorsk on the outskirts of Russia's capital Moscow on the 22nd, when several men fired indiscriminately with automatic weapons and then set the building on fire with gasoline, causing 139 deaths so far. People are dying.

Valery Oksenyuk, who was at the concert hall at the time, responded to an interview with NHK on the 26th.

According to the report, the shooting began immediately after the buzzer sounded to signal the start of the performance, and the men entered from the back of the hall and began firing as they moved toward the stage.

People at the venue panicked when they heard the gunshots and fled from the hall all at once.

Mr. Oksenyuk, who was sitting in the front row, heard the gunshots, ran up to the stage, hid behind a curtain, and evacuated outside the building.

Video footage taken while fleeing shows people evacuating with only the clothes on their backs, including T-shirts.

Oksenyuk said, ``I didn't know what was happening, but I ran anyway. It was like an instinct to protect myself, so I ran outside. It really saved my life.''

Regarding the terrorist attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed the view that it was carried out by Islamic extremists, while also claiming that Ukraine is suspected of being behind the attack. In response, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy has once again denied any involvement. .
