During the prosecutor's inspection, it was established that employees of the Far Eastern Department of Rostekhnadzor in 2022 and 2023 did not identify any gross violations of the law regarding the industrial safety of hazardous production facilities.
“In addition, management officials did not exercise their powers to suppress violations... which subsequently led to the collapse of the rock,” the report said.
The accident at the Pioneer mine occurred on March 18. The rock collapse trapped 13 miners. It was previously reported that a video camera detected water in the mine.
