The CEO of the American chip manufacturer NVIDIA, Jensen Huang, confirmed that his company will continue to invest heavily in Israel, a region that he considers “very important” to him.

At an event in California in the United States, Huang expressed his sympathy for the 3,300 employees working for his company in Israel, in addition to nearly 100 employees in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, saying: “Our hearts are with all of them... The most important thing, of course, is to stay safe, and we We do everything we can."

Huang emphasized that Israel is one of NVIDIA's largest headquarters in terms of the number of employees, and is also home to some of the American company's "most talented" engineers.

In December, NVIDIA and its employees donated $15 million to Israeli and foreign non-profit organizations to support Israel in its war on the Gaza Strip, according to a Reuters report.

Important area

Huang added that his company supports its Palestinian employees in Israel, saying: “We care about them and their families. There is no fear that they will lose our support. Therefore, this region is very important to us. Employees need to know that the company stands behind them.”

He continued: "In order for them to do their best work, they must know that their base is strong. We have unequivocal support for our employees there. We will invest in Israel, and we will support them 100%, and regardless of their background, we are there for them."

Nvidia was not the first technology company to expand its investments in Israel, as the Israeli government agreed, in December, to grant the American company Intel a grant worth $3.2 billion to establish a new chip factory worth $25 billion that it plans to build in southern Israel, which is the largest investment ever. For a company in Israel, according to Reuters.

Intel's intention to establish the aforementioned chip factory with a value of 25 billion is considered a generous offer by a major American company and is in the interest of the Israeli government.

The expansion plan for its site in Kiryat Gat, which has a chip factory 42 kilometers from the Gaza Strip, is an important part of Intel's efforts to promote a more flexible global supply chain, in addition to the company's ongoing efforts to attract investments from Europe and the United States.

Delegation for support

It is noteworthy that a delegation of 65 American investors, technology executives and venture capitalists arrived in Israel last December to provide support to the Israeli technology sector amid a war waged by the occupation on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted the head of the delegation and CEO of the social networking site MeetUp.com, David Siegel, as saying: “After October 7, we feel that companies in the investment and technology sectors must stand by Israel. This means More than just donating, we (must) be present to say that we have always been and will continue to be here to support the overall environment for Israel’s thriving technology sector.”

He added, "The technology community recognizes the growing need for support now, especially when so many Israeli entrepreneurs and their workforce are at the forefront as reservists (in the war on Gaza)."
