Without a word, his eyes fixed on the car waiting for him and accompanied by his lawyer, Dani Alves left Brians II prison on Tuesday afternoon, about thirty kilometers from Barcelona, after 14 months of preventive detention.

The former international footballer, accused of rape and sentenced at first instance to four and a half years in prison, obtained his conditional release last Wednesday. But it took him five days to raise the million euros deposit requested.

The judges believe that the risk of the Brazilian fleeing is less significant now, and that he can therefore await his appeal trial in freedom under certain conditions: he had to surrender his passports, will have to appear before the judge every Friday, and he is prohibited from leaving the country or approaching the victim.

The former football star, formerly of Barça and Paris Saint-Germain, will await his next trial in his luxurious house in Esplugues, near Barcelona. A wait that could last months.
