According to reports, Shandong’s skilled talents mainly present three characteristics:
First, the total amount is large. As of the end of 2023, the province's total number of skilled talents is 14.94 million, ranking among the top in the country; there are 215 technical colleges and universities with 450,000 students, ranking first and second in the country respectively.
The second is rapid development. In 2023, the province will have 318,000 new highly skilled talents, a year-on-year increase of 45%, completing 212% of the task targets issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
The third is high level. The total number of high-skilled talents has exceeded 4 million. There are currently 22 winners of the China Skills Award, 70 skilled talents enjoying special government subsidies from the State Council, 695 national technical experts, 2,102 Qilu chief technicians, 3,599 Shandong provincial technical experts, and high-tech talents. The total number of skilled talents and high-skilled leading talents ranks among the top in the country.
At the end of last year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Shandong Provincial People's Government signed a framework agreement to jointly build "Skilled Shandong" to support Shandong in taking the lead in building a new highland for skilled talents in the country, providing favorable opportunities and broad space for the cultivation of high-skilled talents in Shandong. . Shandong will focus on cultivating high-skilled talents to better stimulate the wisdom and strength of industrial workers, provide more talent support and skill guarantees to accelerate the formation of new productive forces and promote high-quality economic and social development in Shandong.
