Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed this opinion in a conversation with TASS General Director Andrei Kondrashov during the preparation of the documentary film “Belgrade”, which was released on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“This was fueled both from the inside and from the outside, well, it led to such an internal confrontation - in fact, to a very difficult civil war,” the Russian leader said.
Earlier, Putin called the bombing of Yugoslavia a huge tragedy.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also stated that the question of NATO’s responsibility for damage from the bombing of Yugoslavia is open.
