The new permanent representative of Russia to the WTO, Nikolai Platonov, stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, the organization no longer “serves” Western interests to the detriment of the aspirations of other members.

“... the times when the WTO did not shy away from serving Western interests to the detriment of the aspirations of other members are in the past,” Platonov said.

He also noted that Russia will not gain anything from leaving the World Trade Organization, especially since almost all of the country’s foreign trade is based on the rules of this organization.
