While the attack in Moscow this Friday questions the security of the Paris Olympics this summer, the Minister of the Interior affirms that the French workforce “will be ready”. Visiting Roubaix this Monday, Gérald Darmanin also admitted that numerous attempted attacks were regularly foiled.

The police, the gendarmerie and French intelligence "will be ready" to ensure security at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, said Monday the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, traveling to Roubaix, after the raising of the Vigipirate plan to its maximum level.

“France, because it carries universal values, because it is for secularism […] is particularly threatened, particularly during these extraordinary events that will be the Olympic Games,” underlined the minister, three days after the Moscow attack claimed by ISIS. “The French police, the gendarmes, the prefects, the intelligence services, will be ready” for the Olympics, he added, stressing that attempted attacks were regularly foiled.
