On Monday, the Israeli occupation forces continued to siege and bombard Al-Amal Hospital and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, west of the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, while 7 patients were martyred in the besieged Al-Shifa Complex for the eighth day in a row.

The Executive Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Bashar Murad, told Al Jazeera that all patients and medical staff at the Red Crescent’s Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis are still present in the vicinity of the hospital, indicating that the occupation forces are still preventing entry to the hospital after they stormed it yesterday. Sunday.

The occupation army had said that various military units belonging to the 98th Division had begun a military operation in the Al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Yunis, with the aim of continuing to eliminate militants and dismantle the infrastructure of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), he said. The Israeli military spokesman added that the operation began last night with air strikes.

In a statement, the occupation army said that it was continuing its incursion into the Al-Amal neighborhood and that “20 Palestinians were killed in the neighborhood during clashes and air strikes during the past 24 hours, while hundreds of Palestinian residents left the area following the incursion.”

In this context, the Director-General of the World Health Organization said that the organization had received a report about a new Israeli attack on Al-Amal Hospital. The organization called for immediate protection for patients and health workers inside the Gaza Strip, reiterating the call for an immediate ceasefire.

For the second time since late January, the occupation army carried out a military operation in the Al-Amal neighborhood, during which it attacked the "Al-Amal" and "Nasser" hospitals, resulting in martyrs and wounded as a result of bombing in the vicinity of the two hospitals.

Immediate evacuation

In Gaza City, an Al Jazeera correspondent said that the occupation forces demanded, via loudspeakers, the immediate evacuation of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of the city, in conjunction with artillery shelling and heavy gunfire in the vicinity of the hospital.

The Al Jazeera correspondent reported that seven patients were martyred during the past 24 hours in the complex besieged by the occupation forces for the eighth day in a row.

For its part, the occupation army announced that it and the General Security Agency (Shin Bet) were continuing the fighting in the area of the complex, and that it had arrested 500 Palestinians there since the beginning of its storming on March 18. Their affiliation to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements was confirmed, according to its claim.

For the eighth day in a row, the occupation continues to storm the complex, which contained thousands of patients and displaced people, and carries out a massive campaign of arrests and killings among the displaced, and bombs the surrounding homes. Which left hundreds of martyrs and wounded.

Al-Shifa Hospital is one of the few healthcare facilities that is even partially functioning in northern Gaza, and like other facilities, it also houses some of the nearly two million civilians, representing more than 80% of Gaza’s population, who were displaced by the war.

Yesterday, Hamas said in a statement that Israel's escalation of its war against Gaza's hospitals and its storming and siege of Al-Amal and Nasser hospitals in Khan Yunis "confirms the occupation's insistence on continuing the war of extermination" against the Palestinian people.

Since the outbreak of the war on October 7, the devastating Israeli aggression and starvation campaign on the Gaza Strip has left tens of thousands of civilians martyred and wounded - most of them children and women - and the aggression has also caused a humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure, which led to Tel Aviv being brought before a court. International Justice on charges of genocide.
