This opinion was expressed by the former military correspondent of Channel One, director of the Russian House in Belgrade, Evgeniy Baranov.

According to him, NATO carried out these actions deliberately with a clear understanding of why this was being done.

“It was necessary to demonstrate that the old world - the world as a world and the world as an understanding of the world - no longer exists. No Potsdam system. This was a record of victory in the Cold War,” RIA Novosti quotes Baranov.

Earlier, former Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Zivadin Jovanovic said that the time is coming when Serbia will demand compensation for damage from the 1999 NATO bombing.

Also, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO countries is a huge tragedy.
